Barb and I want to thank you and your staff for doing a wonderful job on the floors of our new home. Everyone involved did an outstanding job. They were on time, very comforting, and knew their stuff. We want to congratulate you on Jesse an Logan.
In todays work it is almost impossible to find employees that work as hard as these two young men. We were really impressed, they were punctual, on time and stayed late. They did not goof off, or even talk on their phones. They did outstanding work and you should be very proud of them. WOW is all we can say.
The floors are beautiful. Please feel free to use us as a reference.
Ron and Barb
Thank you-the floors look great!
Greg, thank you for your help and thank Boatright Hardwood Floors for the support over the past 4 years. We love the look and color of our new wood floor and the wonderful integration of the stone entryways at external doors.

You have some great workers. We enjoyed working with your company.
Thank you for a JOB WELL DONE and timely! What a great crew: Mark and Joe. They were fantastic…very kind and thoughtful and did a great job! Your company WILL be recommended by us!
Sam we appreciate your counsel on how to approach and what to say on facing the hardwood floor issues with our builder and another floor company. Thanks for driving out to help us sort things out.
Thanks for taking care of me-I truly enjoy my floors!
Your willingness to refinish the floor in the Evans Dining Room at the Austin Woman’s Club is a major boost to our efforts to refurbish the building. We are very grateful to Boatright Hardwood Floors for your contribution and your continued support for the Austin Woman’s Club.
I love my floor and appreciate the quality of the work your company does. It would would have been nice to have the steps sooner but I would also vote for quality over timing. More than most people I’ve worked with, your crews were careful about the mess that such projects make and I appreciated that very much. I be in touch for future projects.
We wanted to thank you for the excellent work you provided in replacing the bamboo flooring in our apartment. This was a challenging job, and your crew should e commended. They took great care in removing the damaged materials and installing the new bamboo. You were careful and attentive in selecting the best replacement material for the job. We appreciate the skill and attention your provided, and we look forward to working with you in the future. I will be happy to recommend you to my clients.
I built a home in 2009 and after meeting with a number of hardwood flooring companies in town, I selected Boatright based on a recommendation from my builder and their low priced bid. Boatright was easy to work with, showed up when they said they would and were absolutely perfectionists with my floors. My painters damaged my floors and Boatright stepped up and repaired the damage and no additional cost to me. Exceptional job!
Our contractor and architect, who don’t agree on much, recommended Boatright to refinish our floors during our remodel. The floors were poorly installed, so we had Boatright redo the floor beside our stone fireplace. There were huge gaps between the ends of the boards and the fireplace, filled with very ugly caulk. Anyway, two guys came out and did a remarkable job carving the boards to fit exactly against the stones, like a jigsaw puzzle. They also cleaned the stones where the bad installers had gotten stuff on them. We are extremely pleased with how this turned out and are looking forward to having Boatright refinish the floors after the remodeling is complete.
Boatright Floors provided excellent service in replacing floors in one of the houses. They were helpful in finding a product we were looking for and their workmen were there on time and did a great job.
We have a house built in 1934 with hardwood floors throughout that needed to be refinished..Boatright Floors came in and made an assessment…their crew was polite and efficient…they even built a hardwood floor in a converted garage with a concrete floor..the floors throughout the house are beautiful..I know we will enjoy these floors for years to come…AND the price was very reasonable…
Boatright redid old oak plank, oak parquet and teak parquet floors for us and installed new oak plank (solid and engineered) floors totaling thousands of square feet in our 1955 house.
They were prompt and professional and did a phenomenal job. As a design professional I’m a tough taskmaster, but they were infinitely patient in custom-mixing stains to get the tone just right. They magically made odd changes in level disappear with a combination of techniques including leveling compound.
Other companies suggested we toss the parquet but we now get countless comments on the luster of the old wood Boatright preserved and refinished. They patched holes from wet rot so that you can’t tell there was ever any damage.
I recommend Boatright to clients without reservation based on my own experience and will use them again any chance I get. It’s nice to see this level of craftsmanship and service in a world where both are rare.
Boatright is top notch! I’ve used them several times in the past 15 years for jobs at my client’s homes. No one knows more about wood floors than Sam Boatright. Their prices are reasonable; service is excellent. Sam or one of his expert techs comes to see the job. They ask questions and tell you what your choices are. You get value for your money and always a beautiful job.
Boatright’s crews are good guys. They really care about what they do. Once a client told me to choose the finish for a pine floor. When the Boatright guys started to stain the floor, it didn’t look right to them. So they called me right away and explained that the wood wasn’t taking the stain in the way I thought it would (how diplomatic!). I went and looked. Sure enough, I was about to have a zebra effect because of the way pine takes stain. The guys had done two other sample stains for me to choose. Thanks to tBoatright’s crew, I got it right. Other contractors probably would have just put down what the customer asked for.
Recently Sam looked at an antique salvaged wood floor which had been heavily trafficed by kids and dogs – a mess with scratches, dirt, worn spots. He pointed out that it could not be sanded or it would look like the top of a pine coffee table from Furniture in the Raw and all the antique character would be gone. So Sam suggested cleaning and re-coating. They cleaned the wood, by hand in some places, and laid two coats of a gorgeous satin finish. The color was restored, the antique texture was enhanced, the owners are thrilled and so am I.
Boatright’s new floor installations are flawless. They work with designers and architects to make certain that the floor is exactly what the client wants. Several of my friends – homeowners and designers – have hired Boatright for new installations. I don’t know anyone who hasn’t been delighted with the results.
If you want integrity and experts you can trust, if you want to work with people who care, if you want your money’s worth and want to be thrilled with what you get – Boatright is the best!
Boatright Hardwood Floors were a pleasure to work with. I recently had carpet replaced with hardwood floors. The room was oddly shaped and has places where both marble and mirrors touch the floor. When there was any question, I was consulted and my wishes were carried out very professionally. i am so happy with how my new floor looks and I have received many compliments. I also checked out other flooring people in town and Boatright’s prices were the best! I really appreciated the fact that I was clearly told what was included and what costs would not be so that there were no unexpected surprises at the end. of the job! Thanks Sam and crew!

I had Boatright refinish the floors in my 60 year old house, and they were a pleasure to work with. They were flexible when my schedule changed, the price was very reasonable, the work was done quickly and professionally, and the floors look great. It’s transformed the look of the house, and I have no complaints whatsoever. If I need floor work in the future, this is who I will call.
Boatright Hardwood Floors refinished the hardwood floors in a large historical downtown property that I work with in 2009. We had a very positive experience with them. They communicated well, were punctual and had good follow-up once the job was completed. They took the time to work with our employees teaching them appropriate maintenance procedures. They will be doing the same job to another area of our building this summer. We contact them occasionally with questions regarding floor cleaning, polishing, etc. They are always friendly and helpful. I am happy to do business with a local homegrown company, and will recommend them to my friends.
We had a minor flood and Boatright came out to assess damages/prepare a bid, etc. I enjoyed working with Sam and his crew…they were always accessible for questions/comments. The crew manager who assisted us was particularly helpful and the craftsman who measured/provided the molding was very good.
I thought the floor turned out very well, rich in color, a solid foundation…they had to treat it several times to get a good match due to the odd color of our walls and they worked on it to get it right.
Boatright refinished our “ancient” floors when we moved into my home, and we have used them several times for repair work. Each time, the company did an excellent job. I wouldn’t go anywhere else. . . .
Boatright recently did the upstairs floor in our house. From the beginning, the office staff was incredibly helpful. I wandered in and the office manager offered quite a bit of help… especially considering I knew very little about hardwood floors except the fact I wanted them in my home. She answered all of my questions eagerly! After that, the process moved very smoothly. They had their crews out at my home a few weeks later and they installed GORGEOUS hand-scraped floors. The crew members were polite and on time each day.
Honestly, my experience with Boatright was exceptional and I never had any issues with them. I haven’t had any problems with my floor, either. I also love the way they have cleaning products for purchase in their office… I don’t have to worry about going to a specialty store and trying to find a product that will protect my investment.
We have worked with Boatright Floor Company for over 10 years both for our home and our medical building. They have always been professional, courteous, and prompt in setting up appointments and getting the jobs completed. I would highly recommend Boatright Floor Company for anyone who needs new flooring, repair existing flooring or purchase cleaning products. Their location and parking is very convenient on Burnet Road.
Boatright Floors did a wonderful job restoring the hardwood floors at our business. We let our previous cleaning crew work on the floors and it was a huge mistake. They put a shiny finish on it that left slash marks and was quickly an eyesore. We called Boatright Hardwood Floors who evaluated the situation, worked around our schedule, and stripped and waxed the floors back to their original beauty. Their staff is courteous and knowledgeable. You won’t go wrong with Sam Boatright.
Another flooring company recommended Boatright for my project. They just finished installing oak floors in our kitchen, dining room and entry that matched perfectly with the oak floors in the living room and hallway. You cannot tell where the two come together. All of their employees were excellent and cared about doing a quality job and took time to do it right. They came on schedule and finished on schedule. I would absolutely use them again. They are top notch!!!
I had Boatright Floors refinish my Brazilian Cherry hardwood floors in my office and master bedroom and the floors turned out absolutely perfect!
I received a call from Sam Boatright that they had an opening come up in their schedule and asked if they could start sooner then scheduled. I had no problem with that except none of my furniture had been moved and due to a recent knee surgery, I was unable to lift anything. Sam said that was not a problem at all and that his crew would be happy to move the furniture.
The crew consisted of two men, one who had been working with Boatright for over 20 years and a second man who was younger. They took a lot of care in moving my furniture and nothing was scratched. They also covered all my built-in bookcases, TV and paintings with plastic to protect them from the dust.
On the second day of sanding down the floors, I was called out of town for work. Their crew had been polite and respectful, so I left them with a key. When I got back into town four days later, the floors were completed as promised and looked perfect! Plus they had done an excellent job at cleaning up after themselves.
Excellent craftsmanship and service.
We selected Boatright Floors’ hickory/pecan and told our homebuilder we wanted Boatright to install the flooring. They were beautiful. Then the then-historic Texas drought broke and our builder’s problems surfaced. Water came in from the roof, windows, doors (both around and through them), and the under-vented crawlspace and blown-in insulation created a wet sponge under the flooring. Our horrible builder was unable and/or unwilling to fix the water inundation and our wood floors warped and cupped. The first support we had was from Boatright Floors when they used moisture meters to find where the heaviest water was coming from. While we finally had to fire and sue the builder, Boatright helped us quickly see where to direct new contractors to deconstruct, weather-seal, then reconstruct our home. It was a long process but thanks to Sam Boatright and staff, we now have our nice floors again. For our disastrous experience and our help from Boatright, see ourdreamhomenightmare.com.
Greg Goodin is very knowledgeable about caring for wood floors, and he has been willing to consult with me and my clients in a very gracious way. The work this company does has consistently been done well, courteously and at a price that is fair.
I had mesquite floors put in at a ranch house and guest house in Travis County. The Boatright guys took up the old oak, put down a subfloor, then installed the mesquite. The work was impeccable. I enjoyed having their employees around… great guys, and, unlike some other reviewers, I liked dealing with Mr. Boatright and his wife. We got what I thought was a fair price, and about 1/3 of the price of the company recommended by a decorator. It is a small business, and they do have occasional short delays, but nothing out of the ordinary, and they were great at coordinating with other subs to schedule things in the right sequence. Flooring is a big investment. Boatright did a good job on our remodel.
Boatright did a great job installing mesquite floors on my house and guest house. I was happy with all aspects of their work, and thought their installers were great guys. Sorry others seem much less pleased.
2 years ago we had Boatright come out to install wood flooring in the downstairs master bedroom. It was the only room downstairs that didn’t have wood flooring. The only requirement we had was to match the existing wood flooring that was in the other rooms. Greg came out, gave us a bid via email and we signed a contract with them. Initially the detail in the contract about what to expect struck me as a bit much, however, subsequent dealings with other contractors now have me seeing this as “experienced”. Everyone told me that wood flooring was the dustiest mess. However, we did not have that experience. Boatright spent the first day sealing and covering up all of the cupboards, doorways, any “gates” to the a/c return. They turned off the a/c when they worked so the dust wouldn’t carry throughout the system. We had neighbors who wanted to come in and see but they stopped them and said they’d need approval from the home owner. Very respectful. In fact, we ended up extending the contract to include refinishing all of the downstairs floors and replacing a hallway that had red oak installed. Because of their professional care for our home, we were able to live at home throughout the entire time. We did not have any of the dust issues that people warned us about. And the workers took such great care, that the floor trim didn’t need to be repainted (which in the contract they state that the machines might strip off the paint). Yes, they juggle a lot of requests for work and have to manage schedules. But Greg kept us informed at every step, when the product had been delivered, when the resources could be available or why they couldn’t. The finish they put on the old floors does not provide as much protection from scratches as the previous finish but the the new finish is also not turning the wood yellow which is what was happening with the old one. The previous finish was so thick because the owner had dogs that it was more like a gymnasium than home flooring. We use Bono cleaner and polish and the surface of the grain in the wood shows. It’s beautiful. The quality of the bedroom flooring is better than the rest of the house and the guy that laid the flooring in the hallway went through each piece of wood, like an artist, to select the right color tone and grain pattern to seemlessly transition from the old flooring to the new. It’s been 2 years, we are still very happy with the floors and with the experience. Boatright hires employes to do the work, so I’m sure if they experience turnover there might be different experiences. I didn’t get the impression that they had a lot of turnover, just that they had a lot of jobs to manage.
